Curlews are similar to sandpipers, their bills are like tweezers so they can search though the mud for food. This hand carved curlew model is 33 cms in height. Individually packed and a great product.
These birds are now moving towards endangered status but back in the 1940s, butchers in the West Country would quite likely have them for sale in their shops.
