Murex Negrispinosis Seashell
Another shell from our collection of murex shells and these do have some similarities to the aptly named venus comb shell. Perhaps the spines would have been used for similar purposes – to keep unfriendly sea creatures away and stop them sinking deep in to the mud at the bottom of the sea! Beautiful additions to shell collections and displays and for use as white shell decorations for weddings.
